He stole comic books… twice from same store

Durham police investigators are hoping surveillance images can help identify a suspect who stole comic books from the same store twice in two weeks.

On February 2 at about 2:20 pm, officers were called to the Comic Book Addiction store on Brock Street North in Whitby for a theft. A lone male had entered the store, walked around for a while and asked to see some of the more expensive comic books. After looking at them, he kept four comic books and ran out of the store. An employee chased the male, but he got away, said a police media release.

On February 16 around 1:15 am, the same male broke into the locked store and stole a quantity of the expensive comic books. Officers responded quickly to the burglar alarm and searched the area, but no arrests were made.

The suspect is described as a male, white, 30-35 years old, about 5’10” tall, medium build, with a beard.

Anyone with information about the identity of this suspect is asked to contact Cst. Eid of Central West Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1825.
