A portion of Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in Oshawa will be under construction beginning next week, says Regional Municipality of Durham.
Also, a portion of Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) will be under construction beginning next week in Scugog.
Work in Oshawa is scheduled to begin on June 24 and should be complete by August 30. There will be lane restrictions, and overnight work will take place on weeknights between 9 pm and 6 am. Unfavorable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street, from just north of Robert Street to Russet Avenue, in the City of Oshawa.
Work includes road resurfacing, curb and gutter replacements and sidewalk replacements and paving. Overnight work will minimize impact on traffic and local businesses, while protecting worker safety.
Note: Access to local businesses will be maintained during business hours.
The region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
In Scugog, a portion of Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) will be under construction beginning next week.
Work is scheduled to begin on June 24 and should be complete by September 20.
It will take place on Saintfield Road, from Provincial Highway 7/12 to Simcoe Street, in the Township of Scugog.
Road resurfacing work includes culvert replacements, ditching, paving and new pavement markings.
Clarington Road Closure
Port Darlington Road, south of West Beach Road to close on Friday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for paving operation.
Detour available via Lambs Road (No Trucks). Truck detour available via Bennett Road.
