Man wanted in abduction attempt on 8-year old girl

Toronto Police Service (TPS) is asking the public to help identify a man wanted in the abduction of an 8-year old girl on Friday in Toronto.

On November 1 at 8:53 pm, officers responded to a call for a suspicious incident near Blaydon Public School in North York, said a TPS media statement

It is reported that an 8-year old girl was walking in the area at 3:30 pm, when she was approached by a strange man who grabbed her, covering her mouth with his hand.

He then dragged her 60 metres to an SUV and tried to force her into the SUV.

The little girl broke free and ran away.

The suspect is described as white, 40-50, 5’8″, skinny build, and has short grey hair. He was wearing a blue and pink t-shirt, grey sweat pants, and black dress shoes. He drove away in what is believed to be a red Mazda CX-5 with tinted windows.
