Police have charged a 35-year-old male after a sexual assault in Whitby on Thursday afternoon.
On October 17 at 3:30 pm, police were called to the area of Craydon Drive and Dundas Street in Whitby for reports of a sexual assault. An 11-year-old girl reported she was inappropriately touched by an unknown male who passed her as she walked home along the sidewalk.
A short time later the suspect was seen coming out of a nearby residence and he was arrested and charged.
Akil Webb-Brathwaite of Whitby, been charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference With a Person Under 16. He was held for a bail hearing.
