19-year old Beaverton shooter held in Toronto

Durham police said a male has been arrested and charged in connection with a Beaverton shooting that occurred on June 29.

Following an investigation, the male was arrested on August 6 in Toronto.

The suspect, age 19, of  Brock Township, is charged with Aggravated Assault and several firearms related offences. He was held for a bail hearing.

On June 29 at about 7:50 pm, members of North Division were called to a residence near Thorah Concession Road #4 and Highway #12 in Beaverton for a male who had been shot. Officers located a male with serious injuries from a gunshot wound. It is believed that there was a verbal altercation between the two males prior to the shooting, police said.
