Ajax has launched the 20/20 Focus: Covid-19 Business Recovery & Growth Plan, which highlights 20 ways the town can collaboratively support local businesses as they recover from the effects of mandated Covid-19 shutdowns.
The plan includes ‘made for Ajax actions’, adding to its partnership efforts as members of the Durham Economic Task Force and complementing programs and services offered by other levels of government, said a town announcement
20/20 Focus highlights include:
- Launching a Covid-19 business recovery resource webpage
- Fast-tracking the patio permit process
- Relaxing mobile signs for business rules
- Continuing #SupportLocal and #TakeOutDay campaigns
- Expanding innovation programming, including siberXchange 2.0 and AI for Ajax workshops
- Reimaging tourism support, including reintroduction of the Bike Friendly Business program
- Facilitating relevant and timely business conversations
- Developing a five-year Economic Development Action Plan

The town said staff are proactively reaching out to the business community and putting action plans together to roll out new initiatives.
