31-year old dies in car-dump truck crash

A 31-year-old driver has died after a motor vehicle collision in Uxbridge yesterday.

On August 4 at approximately 10:19 am, members from North Division responded to a motor-vehicle collision involving a car and a dump truck at Sandford Road, west of Uxbridge Concession Road 3.

A 31-year-old male from York Region was driving a silver Subaru eastbound on Sandford Road when it collided with a westbound dump truck being operated by a 46-year-old male from York Region. The driver of the Subaru sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway in the area was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
