Durham Police called in Tactical Support and K-9 units to arrest an intruder after he was found hiding in a residential home that he broke into in Oshawa yesterday.
On September 4 at 8:00 am, members of Central East Division were called to a break and enter in progress on Thomas Street in Oshawa. A citizen observed the suspect break into a residence and they contacted police.
Officers contained the residence with the K-9 Unit but the suspect refused to exit the home. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, the suspect was located hiding in a room within the residence. The male was taken into custody without incident.
Stephen Flood, age 36 of Thomas Street in Oshawa, is charged with: Break and Enter With Intent; Possess Break In Instrument; Theft Under $5,000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Mischief.
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
