Durham police said two drivers are being treated for serious injuries following a head on collision in Scugog.
On Monday, January 12,around 5 pm, members of North Division responded to a collision in the area of Lake Ridge Road and Blue Mountain Road.
A Ford hatchback was traveling southbound on Lake Ridge Road when it collided head-on with a Nissan SUV traveling northbound. Both drivers suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from their vehicles. One driver was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma center where he remains in stable condition. The other driver was transported to a local-area hospital.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
