Another school placed on lockdown after receiving threats

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS yesterday reported that Harmony Heights Public School was placed under a hold and secure after receiving a threat.

The police were on the scene assessing the threat. There were no injuries reported, police said.

The hold and secure was lifted about 45 minutes later.

“Officers have determined there are no safety concerns,” said the police adding that they would provide an update later.

This is the second time this year that a school in the Durham Region has faced a threat.

On January 28, DRPS reported a threat to William Dunbar Public School in the City of Pickering which led to a lockdown situation.
