Toronto Police have charged an Ajax man who, claiming to be a ride-share driver, picked up a female and sexually assaulted her.
On Sunday, July 14 at 3:53 am, officers responded to a call for a sexual assault in the Caledonia Road and Lawrence Avenue West area.
It is reported that a 21-year-old woman ordered a ride share. She was picked up by a man who said he was a ride share driver.
He drove her to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her and then stole her cell phone and forced her out of the car.
On Monday, Suhail Siddiqi, 33, of Ajax, was arrested.
He is charged with:
1. Sexual Assault
2. Robbery
3. Overcome Resistance by Choking
Police said this is an on-going investigation.
