Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said one person was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Ajax.
He was taken by ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre.
Forensics team was at the scene to help with evidence shortly.
“Police and investigators have not located the suspect(s). We are looking for video surveillance and relying on witnesses to get a description confirmed before we release any details,” said a DRPS tweet.
“Latest update is the victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and suspect vehicle is a black SUV,” DRPS added.

Numerous officers were on the scene of the shooting in Workmens Circle in Ajax. Officers spoke to witnesses and collected evidence. Witnesses are asked to call DRPS West Division investigators [905-579-1520].

Earlier, DRPS said members of West Division responded to a shooting call in Ajax by Church Street and Rossland.
