The Canadian team has won the IIHF World Junior Championship edging out rivals Russia in a 4-3 win on Sunday.
The championship was being held in Ostrava in the Czech Republic in Europe.
It was little known Akil Tomas who was the pillar of the Canadian victory.
Durham was overjoyed with Twitter being flooded by regional bodies.
