While patrolling Lake Scugog, Durham Police Marine Unit came across a boat that was in distress.
The boat was safely towed back to Port Perry shore.
No injuries to the two occupants were reported, the police said.
They said that the boat ran out of gas.
The incident happened at 1:10 pm.
