The Regional Municipality of Durham yesterday said water supply was interrupted in the Town of Ajax due to a broken watermain.
The interruption is ongoing until repairs are complete.
Where: On the east side of Church Street, at the intersection of Harrisview Street.
Note: Residents and businesses in the immediate area may experience a water service interruption or decrease in water pressure during the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
The municipality said it realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
