Established in 1928, the Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC) continues to unite local business professionals, students and entrepreneurs.

As the voice of business and an accredited Chamber, the WCC staff are guided by their mission, vision and values to ensure a customer experience like no other. The Chamber’s diverse membership is the backbone of this community and support its thriving business ecosystem.

With 720 members in March 2020, the WCC team continually puts the needs of the membership first when developing and executing programming. This includes more than 80 events throughout the year, many of which are free to attend. In addition to providing opportunities to connect and learn, the WCC hosts outstanding signature events including Connect Women, The Business Summit and its annual gala, the Peter Perry & Business Achievement Awards.

Known for its innovation, the WCC prides itself in its ability to evolve and continues to do so to by delivering new and valuable programming to the membership such as the free FanSaves mobile app, the under-30 ConnXGEN networking initiative, mentorship opportunities, as well as student and retiree membership rates.

The WCC is also supporting the business community behind the scenes through advocacy with the help of the Advocacy Committee, a group of member volunteers dedicated to ensuring members are well represented at all levels of government.

Chamber staff represent business interests through community partnerships and participation in the Whitby Economic Recovery Plan Steering Committee, Whitby and Brooklin Downtown Steering Committees, Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area, Durham Economic Task Force and the Durham Region Recovery Task Force, as well as advocating on behalf of the local business community through constant communication with all levels of government and the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce.
