Caught doing 115 kmh in 70 zone + drugs, guns…

An East Division officer of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday snapped another speedster zipping away merrily.

“PC Beck is in the area of Old Scugog & the 3rd Concession. She just caught someone doing 115km in a 70 zone,” said a police tweet yesterday.

It is assumed the driver was not very merry after being caught.

Drugs, cash, firearm seized

Officers have arrested two suspects and seized a quantity of drugs, cash and a firearm after concluding a drug trafficking investigation in Oshawa.

On Monday, March 8, investigators from the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit concluded a drug trafficking investigation, which resulted in two arrests and two search warrants in Oshawa. As a result of the investigation, investigators seized a motor vehicle, a loaded firearm, and over $231,000 in drugs (cocaine, fentanyl and MDMA) and cash.

Stuart Buxton, age 38, of Oshawa was arrested and charged for a number of drug trafficking related offences.

John Mahon, age 28, of Oshawa was arrested and charged for a number of drug trafficking related offences and firearms offences.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to drugs

A 20-year-old male was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop in Oshawa led to the discovery of drugs.

On March 10 at about 7:45 pm, members of Central East Division Community Response Team stopped a silver Ford convertible on Colborne Street near Centre Street North in Oshawa. During the investigation, officers located approximately $22,000 in drugs (fentanyl and hydromorphone).

Zackery Harrison-White, age 20, of No Fixed Address, the passenger in the vehicle is charged with: Possession for Purpose of Trafficking x2. He was held for a bail hearing.
