Whitby Residents and local gardeners are invited to attend a Community Open House on how to create and operate a Community Garden on town-owned or leased/licensed land.
During the session, participants will learn about the environmental and social benefits of community gardening, as well as how to start a community garden or join an existing group of gardeners.
A presentation from guest speaker Mary Drummond of Durham Integrated Growers and open discussion period for participants to ask questions will also be part of the session.
What: Community Gardens Open House
When: Thursday, January 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Regal Room, Centennial Building, 416 Centre St South, Whitby
Community members are required to register for the open house online.
