Covid-19 test centre opens in Bowmanville

Clarington has partnered with Lakeridge Health to open a Covid-19 assessment centre in Bowmanville yesterday.

The Clarington Covid-19 Assessment Centre is located at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, 2440 Highway 2, Bowmanville. The hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.  An assessment centre will also open in Port Perry on August 4, said a municipal statement.

Accessing Assessment Centre

Covid-19 testing is now available for all individuals who have symptoms – even mild ones – and for those who are asymptomatic but request a test because they may have been exposed or have workplace risks, it said.

To ensure an efficient process for all individuals and minimize the risk of exposure to people with Covid-19, testing is by appointment, through the online form. When individuals complete the online Covid-19 Assessment Form (covidswab.lh.ca), they will receive an instant response with the date and time of their appointment. Individuals will receive a phone call if their email is not valid. The team makes every attempt to reach an individual, the statement said.

  • People without a computer or access to the internet can receive support to complete the form from Durham Region Health Department by calling 1-800-841-2729.
  • Individuals typically receive results from their test in less than 48 hours. However, if there is a large volume of tests, the wait time can vary and take longer. If at any time an individual is unable to find their test results through Ontario.ca, they can call Durham Region Health Department at 1-800-841-2729.
