Lakeridge Health yesterday announced that a new Covid-19 assessment centre has been opened in Whitby.
This brings to six, the number of covid assessment centres in Durham.
We have added a new Covid-19 Assessment Centre in Durham Region. The Whitby location is now open to serve you. It is located at the Heydenshore Pavilion, 589 Water Street, Whitby, said a Lakeridge Health tweet.
Covid-19 Assessment Centre Locations in Durham:
- Clarington – 2440 Durham Regional Highway 2, Bowmanville, Ontario
- North Durham – 19 Jeffery Street, Prince Albert, Ontario
- Oshawa – Oshawa Hospital, Parkwood Court
- Oshawa Clinic – Mary Street Parking Garage, 1 Mary Street North
- Ajax – Ajax Pickering Hospital, 580 Harwood Avenue South
- Whitby – Heydenshore Pavilion, 589 Water Street, Whitby
Testing at Pharmacies: Some pharmacies across Ontario now offer Covid-19 testing for people without symptoms who need a Covid-19 test. Please visit Ontario.ca/covidtest for information on whether you are eligible for testing, how to book a test and for pharmacy locations near you.
Accessing covid Test in Durham: To ensure people who are most in need of a Covid-19 test receive one, Lakeridge Health is only testing individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria in a Covid-19 Assessment Centre. If this applies to you, complete the assessment form at covidswab.lh.ca:
Can apply if:
- Were told by public health or notified by the COVID-19 Alert APP that they were exposed to the virus;
- Work or live in a place where there is an outbreak and were told by public health to get a COVID-19 test;
- Work or reside in a long-term care home, shelter, retirement home, group home or other congregate care/shared living settings;
- Were identified as part of a targeted guidance as directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care or by public health*
