Covid Update: 219 cases; 74 hospitalised

Durham Health yesterday posted 219 new Covid-19 cases for April 11, taking the region’s tally to 16,574 since the count began on February 29 2020.

Variants cases stood at 3,421. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 309, with 217 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 14,181. There are 2,084 active covid cases.

Seventy-four cases are hospitalized with 27 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 2,010 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • 158 cases in Pickering
  • 249 in Ajax
  • 142 in Whitby
  • 182 in Oshawa
  • 80 in Clarington
  • 7 in Uxbridge
  • 17 in Scugog
  • 11 in Brock

Since April 8.

 

Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC
Of the 52 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-eight deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 53 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Seventeen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
