Crime Briefs: Shots, stabbing, fight and robbery

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said two men were stabbed during an altercation near a coffee shop in Oshawa.

The incident occurred by Wilson Road and King Street.

“One male taken to a trauma center, the other to a local hospital. Happened at 4:30 am. Officers collecting evidence at scene,” said a DRPS tweet.

Pickering: Durham police called in support from K-9 officers and Air 1 to search for an armed male who attempted to rob the Pay Today Store in Pickering.

The incident took place just before 8:30 pm.

Police said the suspect fled on foot. “No injuries. No items stolen. Investigation ongoing,” said a police tweet.

Liverpool: Durham Regional Police Service yesterday said officers from the West Division are investigating shots fired just after 9 pm in the area of Liverpool just north of Lake Ontario.

They said evidence was located nearby.

“No reported injuries at this time. If you have info please call us at 905-579-1520,” said the DRPS.

Ajax: Police said on Friday a fight occurred involving several people in a washroom of a McDonald’s restaurant on Kingston Road East in Ajax.

One man was reported with minor injuries.

Police said initial reports of a stabbing turned out to be false.
