Do you have a spare phone, Durham victims might need it

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday appealed to residents to donate any used or new phones they may be able to spare for the use by victims of crime in Durham.

“Victim Services of Durham Region (VSDR) is seeking donated phones (new or used) to support victims of crime,” said police.

“A phone provides safety and connection in times of need. Your donation can make a real difference. Thank you for your support!” it added.

The police asked residents to reach out to 905-721-4226 ext 3400 or drop off the donated phones to DRPS Central East Division at 77 Centre Street North in Oshawa.

The donated phone, it is understood, needs to be in working condition.
