Downed trees keep Oshawa Power up all night

Oshawa Power crews did a great job working through Tuesday night into early morning yesterday to restore power after the thunderstorm brought down trees.

Oshawa Power issued a safety alert reporting that multiple trees were down in the Simcoe/Old Simcoe Street area.

“From the Simcoe St/Old Simcoe split to our northern boundary will be out of power for the night into the late morning. Please exercise caution if you are in the area,” said the alert.

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) too issued an alert. “Power outage in area of Simcoe St N and Raglan Rd E, Oshawa. Please be careful driving and treat traffic lights that are out, as a four way stop. Thanks,” it said in a tweet.

After working through the night, Oshawa Power crews were able to restore power by early morning.

“Our crews worked through the night to rebuild the area affected by yesterday’s thunderstorm. Power was restored to all 150 customers by 6:30 am this morning. Thank you for your patience while we worked on this,” said an Oshawa Power tweet.
