Durham Health yesterday posted 125 new Covid-19 cases for December 15, taking the region’s tally to 28,976 since the count began on February 29, 2020.
At the end of November this year, the total case count had stood at 28,169.
Durham’s overall death toll stands at 389, with 227 of them occurring in LTCs (long term care facilities).
Recoveries stand at 28,077. However, there are 509 active covid cases. Two are hospitalized, with one in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A total of 507 people are in home isolation.
Durham Health reported the highest overall number of covid cases so far in Ajax.
There were:
- 22 new cases in Pickering;
- 11 in Ajax;
- 41 in Whitby;
- 31 in Oshawa;
- 26 in Clarington;
- 3 in Uxbridge and
- 1 in Scugog and Brock each.
