Whitby: The Regional Municipality of Durham is urging residents to provide input for the region’s new five-year strategic plan, which is currently under review.

The new plan will help guide the region’s decision-making and allocation of resources over the next five years. Local community organizations, businesses and residents are invited to share their ideas and provide input about the future of Durham Region at one of the upcoming town hall discussions taking place in August.

Town hall discussions will take place on the following dates:

Whitby: August 26 from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Whitby Public Library, Main Branch, 405 Dundas Street West.

Oshawa: August 28 from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Oshawa Public Library, McLaughlin Branch, 65 Bagot Street.

Why: The Durham Region Strategic Plan is a guiding document that will help identify priorities for Regional Council, while creating a framework for the organization’s service planning and delivery. The strategic plan allows the region to define a set of common goals and prioritize those things that matter most to Durham residents.
