Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday went into high gear calling out its Explosives Unit on reports of a suspicious package found in a Pickering parking lot.
“Members of our Explosives Disposal Unit are in the area of Montgomery Park Rd in Pickering for a suspicious package call,” said a DRPS tweet adding that: “There are no public safety concerns at this time. The item is in a parking lot and we are investigating. Update to follow.”
Two hours later, DRPS announced that the matter had been resolved.
“Item was rendered safe and our units have cleared. No criminality involved. Thanks for your patience in the area. Have a great weekend and be safe…,”it said.
