Fill in Durham Business Count before August 30

Whitby: Durham’s eighth-annual Business Count is currently underway.

The Regional Municipality of Durham said it is encouraging all local businesses—including home-based businesses, non-profit organizations and farms—to participate by completing the Business Count online at durham.ca/BusinessCount.

The Business Count is a regional project that aims to collect employment statistics and promote economic development initiatives. The project gathers data about local businesses, including the type and nature of the business, the number of employees, plans for growth, floor space and location, it said.

Data collected through the Business Count will be used for municipal planning and analysis purposes and to update regional and municipal business directories. Businesses are encouraged to utilize the online directory at investdurham.ca to “look local first” when seeking out new suppliers.
