Oshawa: A fire swept through an area of Oxford Street in south Oshawa on Friday around midday.
The police and firefighters responded and brought the blaze under control, according to a tweet by Durham Regional Police.
It said some townhouses in the area near the blaze were evacuated.
There were no injuries reported.
Oxford Street was closed between Venus Crescent and Chandos Court for some time.
