Firearms, cash and drugs seized In Oshawa

Durham police yesterday said two people are facing numerous charges after an investigation by its Gun and Gang Unit led to the seizure of firearms, cash and drugs in Oshawa.

Throughout the investigation a male suspect was observed conducting a number of drug transactions throughout Oshawa. It was determined two residences were used to store drugs and also conduct transactions, said a police statement.

The male suspect was arrested in the area of Stevenson Road and Adelaide Avenue and officers seized a loaded restricted handgun, quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and a quantity of cash.

Two search warrants were conducted at the two residences, one on Simcoe Street where drugs and cash were located, and the other on Annapolis Avenue where investigators seized drugs and a prohibited handgun. As a result of the investigation two loaded handguns, and approximately $9,000 in drugs and cash were seized, police said.

Arielle Williams, age 35 of Annapolis Avenue in Oshawa is charged with numerous firearms and drug trafficking related offences. He was held for a bail hearing.

Kim Halasz, age 43 of Simcoe Street in Oshawa, was charged with drug trafficking related offences. She was released on an Undertaking.
