Man filled up at 4 pumps and left without paying

An arrest warrant in Durham has been issued for a 40-year-old man of ‘No Fixed Address’.

During the month of June, the suspect attended four separate gas stations located in Pickering, Ajax and Oshawa, pumped fuel into his vehicle and left without paying. The suspect was also captured on video surveillance using stolen credit cards to purchase items at two separate gas stations in Whitby.

It is alleged that the suspect ‘Simon Haagaard’, was responsible for several vehicle break-ins at Honeys Beach Road in Scugog. Police have located the suspect’s vehicle abandoned in the Raglan area but his whereabouts are unknown.

Investigators do not believe there is a threat to community safety, but want Haagaard to contact a lawyer and turn himself in. It is an offence for any friend or acquaintance to aid and abet him while he is wanted by police.

Haagaard is wanted for 10 criminal charges, including: Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime; Use Stolen Credit Card; Fraud Under $5,000 and Theft under $5,000.

Anyone with new information about his location is asked to contact D/Cst. Burns of the North Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2676.
