Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) officers rushed to an area of Ajax on Wednesday night on reports of gunfire.
As it turned out, a backfiring car was the culprit.
Last night we received calls for the sound of shots fired in the area of Audley Road in Ajax, said a DRPS tweet yesterday.
Officers searched the area and it turns out it was coming from two modified Honda vehicle’s backfiring as they drove away.
One driver was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act, the tweet added.
