Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday had a “heavy police presence” in the area of Rossland Road and Brock Street in Whitby for an “ongoing police investigation”.
Apparently an unnamed person was the focal point of the police presence early afternoon. Traffic was affected.
The situation was resolved with the arrest of a person.
“One person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act. Officers were able to resolve this incident without any incident. Officers clearing the area,” said a police tweet.
No further details were available till late last night.
“We will have more info to follow,” police said.
