Impaired hit-and-run driver flees… but not far

A 41-year-old male has been charged after he fled the scene of a collision and was found to be impaired on Wednesday.

On October 30 at 4:50 pm, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ritson Road and Beatrice Street in Oshawa. One of the drivers fled the scene. The vehicle was observed on fire in a parking lot at Simcoe Street and Adelaide Avenue a short time later. When officers arrived on scene, the driver fled on foot. Officers were able to catch up to the driver and arrest him.

David Lynch of Brampton, has been charged with: Impaired; Exceed; Failure to Stop after Accident and Fail to Comply with Recognizance x2.
