It’s going to be a cooler weekend in Durham

After a long spell of hot weather, Environment Canada yesterday said cooler temperatures are forecast for the weekend.

“A cooler airmass moves into the area for Saturday and Sunday with daytime high temperatures expected to be below 30 degrees Celsius,” it said.

The week-long hot spell necessitated opening of cooling centres by several municipalities as well as restrictions on water use in parts of Durham as well as a general advisory to conserve water.

Oshawa Power was kept busy by recurring power outages.
