Lane restrictions on Kingston Road in Ajax

As part of the Kingston Road bus rapid transit reconstruction project, the Regional Municipality of Durham has awarded a contract for the construction of a retaining wall on the south side of Kingston Road, east of Chapman Drive, in the Town of Ajax.

The region’s contractor, Hawkins Contracting Service Limited, started work the week of January 26 and is expected to complete the project by February 14, except for sod restoration which will occur in the spring. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule, said a city announcement yesterday.

Lane restrictions on eastbound Kingston Road will occur depending on the nature of the work. The south sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians until work is completed.

The region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
