Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced that a driver has been caught doing 85 kmh above the posted speed limit in Pickering.

An officer from DRPS West Division stopped a motorist travelling eastbound on Hwy 7 near Sideline 32 Thursday for excessive speed, said a police tweet.

The driver was travelling at 145 kmh in a 60 zone, it pointed out.

“Along with receiving several tickets, his vehicle was impounded and licence suspended,” the tweet added.
