Man breaks into home and steals old lady’s purse

A 22-year-old male is facing numerous break and enter charges after he was arrested for a home-invasion at a residence in Whitby on Sunday.

On October 6 at 3:20 am, members of Central West Division responded to a home-invasion at a residence near Thickson Road and Rossland Road in Whitby. The suspect broke into the residence basement window before he was located by the 76-year-old female in her bedroom. The suspect took the females purse and left the home. The female contacted police who responded quickly and searched the area. The victim didn’t sustain any physical injuries.

Police located the suspect hours later and he was arrested without incident. Further investigation of the suspect revealed that he was responsible for other historical incidents including a residential break and enter on the same date and street as the home invasion.

Tevin Cameron  of No Fixed Address is charged: Break and Enter Commit x4; Theft of Motor Vehicle; Fail to Comply with Probation Order x24; Theft from Motor Vehicle x3; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Attempt Theft. He was held for a bail hearing.
