Man held for threatening to shoot Ex

Durham Police officers investigating a domestic dispute in Ajax arrested a male and seized two guns.

On January 13, the female victim arrived at the front desk of West Division to report a domestic dispute involving her former boyfriend. The two had recently broken up and he threatened to shoot her and others, she alleged.

Officers went to a residence in Toronto and arrested the male without incident. The male had the proper documentation for the firearms but due to the nature of the incident and threats, the handgun and rifle were seized from the residence, said the police.

The 42-year-old Toronto man has been charged with: Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose; Uttering Threats, and Assault with a Weapon – Spousal . He was held for a bail hearing. His name is withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
