Man shot in broad daylight in Oshawa

A 42-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot while walking on Whiting Avenue in Oshawa yesterday.

On Tuesday at 4 pm, police were called to Whiting Avenue, west of Simcoe Street in Oshawa regarding a man lying on the centre of the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers and paramedics arrived and the male was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries. He remains in stable condition in hospital and his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Witnesses reporting seeing two males approaching the victim near an apartment building. After the shooting, the two males were seen getting into a dark grey four-door vehicle, and driving away. Investigators do not believe this was a random attack.

Suspect #1 is described as a male, white, wearing a red, white and black top, red and black shorts and black high top running shoes.

Suspect #2 is described as a male, medium build, wearing black pants, a black-hooded winter jacket and a dark baseball cap.
