Man shot in Pickering home raid, suspects flee

Durham police are investigating a shooting that sent one male to a trauma centre early yesterday in Pickering.

On February 26 at around 1 am, members of West Division were called to a residence in the area of Liverpool Road and Krosno Boulevard in Pickering for reports of shots fired. Officers located a male party who had serious injuries from a gunshot wound, said a police media release.

The suspect(s) broke into a home and shot the male victim. The suspects fled on foot, said the police.

The 33-year-old male victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries .

Police searched the area with the assistance of K-9 with negative results.

There is no suspect descriptors at this time other than several males. Investigators are looking for public help with any information regarding the shooting. “If you have surveillance video in this area, please contact our investigators,” they said.
