Mom leaves 7-month old baby in car and goes to park

A 7-month-old baby girl was found crying in a vehicle on Sunday and the mother has been charged.

On July 7, 2019, at 12:50 pm, police were called to the parking lot at the Delpark Homes Centre on Harmony Road in Oshawa after an infant was found crying in a vehicle.

A citizen walking past the vehicle heard the baby crying. The door was unlocked, so she took the baby out and called 9-1-1. The infant was taken to hospital to be examined. Police located the mother in a nearby park with her other small children.

The child was cleared medically and turned over to her father.

A 32-year-old from Oshawa has been charged with: Abandoning a Child and Criminal Negligence.

She was released on a Promise to Appear and her name is being withheld to protect the children’s identity.

  1. Unbelievable and yet this women is out most likely unsupervised with these children. Her excuse probably , I forgot the baby was there or the baby was sleeping I didn’t want to wake it up.
Whatever the reason,it’s not excusable or except able this women needs to be behind bars and her children taken away.Qhat ever happened to the law protecting the innocent and the weak ,

  2. Apparently common sense regarding this issue has NOT sunk in! Seriously, how can you neglect your baby? What is wrong with you? Put yourself in a car with no ventilation in the summer and we’ll see how long you last. At least you can let yourself out!!!! Angry beyond belief!!!!
