Motorcyclist critically hurt in crash with car

A 27-year-old Courtice female motorcyclist was critically injured after striking a motor vehicle in Clarington on Sunday.

On July 26 at about 4:20 pm, officers from East Division were called to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Bowmanville Avenue at Concession Road 6 in Clarington involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Equinox, said a police statement.

The injured female motorcyclist was transported by Region of Durham Paramedic Services to a Toronto trauma centre, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the other involved motor vehicle, a 60-year-old Bowmanville female, was not injured, it said.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected, it added.
