New homes coming up on Thoroughbred Street

A planning act public meeting is being called by Oshawa to discuss plans for a development comprising 45 detached homes and townhouses on the southwest corner of Thoroughbred Street and Dance Act Avenue.

The development features a block for up to 18 single detached dwellings, semi-detached dwellings and/or street townhouse dwellings, 4 blocks for up to 27 street townhouse dwellings and a new local road.

The application requires amendment to the Windfields Part II Plan to re-designate the subject lands from Medium Density II Residential subject to Policy 8.6.6.14, to Medium Density I Residential.

It also requires a rezoning of the subject lands from R6-B(7) (Residential) to appropriate Residential Zones to implement the proposed draft plan of subdivision with site specific conditions to permit:

  • Single detached dwellings with reduced lot frontage, lot area, front yard depth and exterior side yard depth and increased lot coverage and height;
  • Semi-detached buildings and semi-detached dwellings with reduced lot frontage, lot area, front yard depth and exterior side yard depth and increased lot coverage and height; and,
  • Townhouse dwellings with reduced lot area, front yard depth, exterior side yard depth and rear yard depth and increased lot coverage and height

The Oshawa Development Services Committee will be considering the above referenced applications for  at the public meeting. The applications have been determined to be complete.
