Durham Police are looking for an armed suspect after a robbery at a grocery store in Newcastle overnight.
On Monday, August 12 at approximately 10:25 pm, members of East Division were dispatched to a robbery call at the Foodland Grocery Store on King Avenue East in Newcastle.
The masked suspect entered the front doors armed with a large knife and made a demand for cash. The suspect then fled with the cash drawer, said a police statement.
Police checked the area with negative results. The store employees were not physically harmed during the incident.
The suspect is described as: white, small hands, 5’2″ to 5’4″ tall, small build. The suspect was dressed in all black clothes and black shoes. The suspect was armed with a large knife and wore a mask concealing their identity.
