No gatherings of 5+ people… even at home

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday clarified that gatherings of more than five people – even if it as the home of someone – are prohibited under the emergency act.

The exception is if the 5+ people live in the home together.

“We are taking a measured, education-focused approach to enforcing the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act but be advised you can now be ticketed if you violate the orders: no social gatherings of 5+ people, no using park amenities & closure of non-essential businesses,” said the DRPS.
