Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 1,462 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the region since February 29. One new covid-related death was also announced.
The number of Covid-19 infections on Saturday had stood at 1,449.
Of the total cases, 24 are hospitalized, of which 6 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Deaths total 175, of which 149 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 1,125.
Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide Covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 504 were in Pickering (no change) followed by 382 in Ajax and 237 in Oshawa.
Death Toll: One new one in Uxbridge
- Of the 88 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH – no change
- Of the 36 reported deaths in Ajax, 31 were in LTCH – no change
- Three deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH] – no change
- Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH – no change
- Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH] – no change
- 18 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 17 in LTCH
- No deaths have been reported in Scugog – no change
- No deaths have been reported in Brock – no change
