Oshawa motorcyclist airlifted to hospital

A 53-year-old Oshawa man was seriously injured in a single motor vehicle collision in Scugog Township on Saturday evening.

On September 28 at 6:36 pm, members of East Division responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a single motorcycle. The collision occurred on Manvers-Scugog Townline between Drum Road and Telecom Road.

The collision reportedly occurred when the southbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in Manver-Scugog Townline and crashed after it left the roadway.

The 53-year-old male rider of the Harley-Davidson was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash and was rushed from the collision scene by air ambulance to a Toronto area trauma center where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. He remains in stable condition.

The road was closed for several hours while members from the Collision Investigation Unit gathered evidence at the collision scene. The cause of the collision is still being determined.
