Large house party raided in Ajax, organizer charged

DRPS have charged the organizer of a large house party at an Air BNB in Ajax over the weekend in violation of provincial emergency health measures.

On Sunday, May 2, 2021, at approximately 2 a.m., members of West Division attended a large gathering at a residence in the area of Thackery Drive and Williamson Drive in defiance of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA).

The officers managed the situation in accordance with proper police protocols, taking into account all circumstances and professional considerations. DRPS laid charges against the individual who rented the Air BNB.

As a result, a 25-year-old male from Ottawa has been charged with: Individual Fail to Comply with an Order made During a Declared Emergency.
