Pedestrian serious after Stevenson-King St. hit

A female pedestrian has been seriously injured in an Oshawa collision,according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The accident occurred around mid-day yesterday on Stevenson Road and King Street in Oshawa.

Police did not say how the collision occurred or whether the person who hit the victim stayed at the scene.

The road was closed off for a couple of hours while DRPS officers collected evidence.

Officers from DRPS Central East Division are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian at Stevenson Road North and King Street in Oshawa. Female taken to a trauma center with serious injuries. More info to follow, road closures in that intersection, said a DRPS tweet following the accident.

“Stevenson Rd closed at King St in both directions. Left lanes of King St are closed. Pedestrian in her 30s suffered serious injuries. Roadways will be closed for a few hours,”it said later.

Recording evidence

Following the end of the investigation, the road was reopened to traffic.

“Roadways have re-opened at Stevenson and King Street in Oshawa. Thanks for your patience,” said the DRPS.
